Soar with the Newmarket eGALS!

The Newmarket eGALS are back up and riding after a tumultuous year! Hope you are as excited as we are!
Our Wednesday night rides are back! We meet up at Vandorf Park parking lot on Woodbine north of Vandorf Sideroad, and ride out at 6PM. If you are a woman registered with the club, and would like to ride with the Newmarket eGALS, contact Janis Nixon.
We also coordinate weekend group rides - road and gravel - using Slack. Weekend rides are dependent on weather, rider goals and distance.
This year we've created a team (more are welcome!) to participate in the 6th annual NewRoads Lake Ride in support of the Mental Health Program at Southlake Regional Health Centre on September 19, 2021. The Newmarket eGALS will be riding 125km.
Registration for the 2022 Newmarket eGALS season is NOW OPEN!!
Want to ride with some of the smartest, sharpest, and friendliest women on two wheels? We’ve got the riding group for YOU!
Starting First Wednesday of May, eGALS will ride every Wednesday at 6:00PM throughout the summer months, and wind down near the end of August.
*Cancellations due to inclement weather and updates to eGALS rides will be posted in our eGALS Slack community
For more information, contact eGALS Janis Nixon.
If you are interested in riding with the eGALS, please register with the Newmarket Eagles first. Join Now.
Please review the "NEWMARKET EAGLES CYCLING CLUB: PRACTICES FOR GROUP RIDES, TIME TRIALS AND PURSUITS" which can be found on our Club Ride Rules page.
The goal of the Newmarket eGALS is to instruct and inspire female cyclists of all abilities to ride more confidently in a safe and inclusive environment. This is not a learn to ride program, but rather a women’s only riding group. We love to ride our bikes, any speed.
We are dedicated to providing equal opportunities for women to gain riding confidence on the roads in and around York Region. Our time together will include clinics on bike maintenance and cycling tips, while improving bike handling and group riding skills.
The Newmarket eGALS meet up and ride out at 6:00PM on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer at Vandorf Park on Woodbine Ave, north of Vandorf Sideroad near the Whitchurch Stouffville Museum.
This is not a learn to ride program, but it is a social ride. Average pace is 24-26km/h per week depending on the route, distance and ride objective. Road bikes only during group rides.
If you need to leave the ride early, please inform the Group Leader prior to the start of the ride.
