New in 2019!

The Newmarket eGALS are planning to do a Century Ride (160km) the second week of October. To prepare, the group has added weekly Sunday rides starting at 7:30AM. Each week the distance will increase, and the start location may change to accommodate going East or West. For the most up to date information, visit the eGALS Facebook page to find route maps and information posted weekly.

Our Goal

The goal of the Newmarket eGALS is to instruct and inspire female cyclists of all abilities to ride more confidently in a safe and inclusive environment. This is not a learn to ride program, but rather a women’s only riding group.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing equal opportunities for women to gain riding confidence on the roads in and around York Region. Our time together will include clinics on bike maintenance and cycling tips, while improving bike handling and group riding skills.

Our Rides

The Newmarket eGALS will meet at 6:30PM at Vandorf Park on Woodbine Ave, north of Vandorf Sideroad near the Whitchurch Stouffville Museum.

This is not a learn to ride program, but it is a social ride. Average pace is 24-26km/h per week depending on the route and objective of the ride. Road bikes, TT bikes, and hybrids permitted. Please no mountain bikes.

Each group ride will include Ride Marshalls and Group Captains.

If you need to leave the ride early, please inform the Group Captain prior to the start of the ride.
