SUNDAY MORNING TRAINING & TOURING RIDE FOR 2008
Club Membership Required: make sure you’re on the Membership List. Give Victor a call or send him an email if you’ve submitted your application, but have not yet received your NECC Membership Card (victortolgyessy@yahoo.ca).

Meet: Main/Water Street Parking Lot, Newmarket (the 'usual spot').
Sunday rides run from April to the end of September. They vary in length from 50 to 160 kms. The object is to have fun and add variety into our weekly training routine. Rides after race days will usually be shorter and geared to recovery. Once a month, there will be a longish ride between 100 and 160 km. We stay together on these rides, no one gets left behind. Consider your fitness level though before joining the ride. Please don’t show up for a 160 km ride without having trained for the event. Bring food, water, a repair kit, appropriate clothing, and your cell phone if you have one. We do not supply a sag wagon. We don’t usually start a ride if it’s raining, but have been known to get caught in the rain before. These rides are suitable for road bikes only. Start time and location varies throughout the season – see schedule below:
UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED Rides will begin at Water St and Main St in Newmarket
Rides will begin at 8:30 am from the first Sunday in May until the third Sunday in June. From June 29 up to and including August 10, rides will begin at 7:30 am. Then back to 8:30 starts unless otherwise noted.
Special Dates to Remember:
May 19, 2008 - 8:30 am - Metric Century 100 kms - Georgina to Sutton return by the lake.
June 29, 2008 - 7:30 - Century 160 kms - Barrie, Orillia and back. Yes the Middletown hill is included at 130 kms!
July 6 to August 10, 2008 - Rides will be shorter, 2 hours or under followed by brunch. Be home by 10:30! (or just keep on riding).
August 3, 2008 - 7:30 - Century 160 kms NEW ROUTE - Beeton, Essa, Barrie, and back.
August 31, 2008 - 8:30 - Metric Century 100 kms - A shortened version of last years' Alliston Century. Alternate Start at Beeton (see TT map)
September 28, 2008 - 9:30 am - The annual event not to be missed! Features lunch at a nearby pub (Beer!) with a short ride home. The route is always a surprise, but is never greater than 80 kms.
