Nov. 1st to Start of DST - 9:30 am
Meet: Water St. Parking Lot, Newmarket
Length of Ride: Varies depending on season and group. Approx. 2-3hrs in summer.

We will split up into groups for the ride depending on how many people show up and the ride pace wanted. In general, this is a fast-paced training ride. You must wear a helmet and have a proper road bike in good working order. You must have brakes that work well and that can be applied from the normal riding position. Wheels should be properly trued, and everyone must carry a working pump, spare inner tubes or tires, basic tools and energy food and drink. No aero bars allowed. You should also take it upon yourself to learn group riding techniques as quickly as possible. If in doubt, ask. An experienced fellow member will be pleased to help. These requirements are for the safety of the whole group including your own. You will not be able to join us if you do not meet said requirements.

Winter/Spring Training Rides (Any Year):
During our winter season (1st Saturday in November to Last Saturday in April) winter bikes will be used on training rides. Weather may take a nasty turn, we all try to use lower gears and may go on dirt roads. Accordingly your bike needs to be suitable. An adapted road bike, cyclocross bike or mountain bike would all be suitable.

Winter Bikes:
We may take advantage of using dirt roads and on accasion conditions can be hazardous. It is therefore necessary, in the interest of one's own safety and that of other club riders that winter bikes be equipped with the following :
  • Heavy duty tires (Nobblies)
  • Functioning breaks with good pads
  • Low gears
  • Fenders
  • Tool kit
  • Spare inner tube
  • Front and rear lights on low visibility days (Low light levels, fog and snow flurries)
