LEARN TO RACE CLINIC STARTS MONDAY APRIL 22

Learn to Road Race program starts April 22nd. Location for the first 6 weeks is St. Elizabeth Seton Parish Church, 17995 Leslie Street, Newmarket. Start time is 6:30pm until approximately 8:00pm. The focus is on skills and drills to prepare for the Youth Cup Race Series. Road bikes are strongly recommended. Parents will be required to stay on-site for safety reasons. This program is free to all registered youth members of the Newmarket Eagles Cycling Club.

Domestiques and Donations Wanted

The 7th annual Tour de Speed youth race is coming on June 15th. The Community Centre is booked, the roads are secured and all the support services are in place. The only thing missing (besides the riders) is YOU! If you’ve helped out before you know how much fun it is and how much the kids enjoy the day.
If you are able to help out, whether it’s only for an hour or for the whole day, please send me an e‑mail at tourofspeed@rogers.com. Include your name, your availability and what you would like to do. If you volunteered last year, I sincerely hope you will be back this year, particularly in the key knowledge and team captain positions.
We are looking for contributions of items for:
• Fund raising raffles - preferably cycling related including gear, clothing, food, equipment;
• Swag bags - also preferably cycling related;
• Canteen - coffee, milk, soft-drinks, cookies, muffins;
• Post-race recovery - e.g. water, fruit, chocolate milk, gels, powders, bars;
• BBQ lunch items - patties, buns, water, soft drinks, cookies, coffee, vegetables and fruit.
The Tour de Speed is recognized as the premiere youth race in Ontario. This level of recognition is only possible because club members like you step up to help. Your assistance will enable us to continue our support of youth cycling in York Region.

NECC Youth Racing Team Indoor Cycling Program Overview

It is finally here! Please check out the Newmarket Eagles Youth Indoor Training program on the right hand side of the page (titled 'Youth Racing Team Indoor Training 2012').
This program was put together by our own Ralph Neumann (former National Team Member) and is specifically designed to get the kids ready for the upcoming race season. This is phase 1, Phase 2 will be released in Jan/Feb and will focus more on increasing power.

Coming in 2013, under the guidance of Ralph Neumann and Chris Raynor, a Newmarket Eagles Youth Race Team.
As the planning for this starts to take shape, follow all the developments on Facebook, NEWMARKET EAGLES YOUTH RACE TEAM, with cool info and updates for young and old!
Even all the old fogies in the club can show their support for the Youth Team by “liking” us on Facebook.
And maybe if there is enough support we may have a Race Team for the adults as well.
